Excel Recruitment are recruiting a Senior Clinical or Counselling Psychologist on behalf of a CAMHS team in Tullamore town. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Psychologist to develop their career further.

Successful Candidate:

You will work as part of the multi-disciplinary team.

You will have regular clinical supervision. Your leadership style will be based around compassion and inclusivity; you will encourage this in the staff you clinically supervise. You will work closely with the leadership team to ensure the service is resilient and sustainable, with a well-supported team delivering evidence-based interventions.

Job Purpose:

The Senior Psychologist will deliver advanced psychological assessments, formulations, and therapeutic interventions to children and adolescents referred to CAMHS. The role also involves working closely with families and carers, contributing to service development, and providing supervision and consultation within the MDT.

You will be highly skilled and experienced in delivering and developing an evidence-based therapeutic service, with a record of being a compassionate and inclusive leader.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • A Doctorate or equivalent in Clinical, Counselling, or Educational Psychology.
  • Eligibility for professional registration with the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) or relevant body.
  • Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience, with at least 2 years at Senior or equivalent level
  • Experience of assessing and providing a wide range of psychological interventions to patients presenting with the full degree of clinical severity and across a range of clinical mental health presentations across the life span and care settings
  • Strong background working with children and young people with co-morbid mental
  • Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team and to liaise effectively with other professionals.

Essential Requirements

  • BSc or MSc in Occupational Therapy.
  • CORU registration as an Occupational Therapist (or pending confirmation).
  • Previous experience in Mental Health, with a strong interest in neurodiversity and ADHD.
  • Demonstrable clinical reasoning, communication, and documentation skills.
  • A recovery-oriented, person-centred, and collaborative approach to care.
