Salary: €60k plus Bonus

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure operation runs efficiently and smoothly
  • The recruitment, training, and development of high-quality personnel for all departments within the store
  • Overseeing rostering and general management of personnel to ensure adequate cover with in budgetary provisions, whilst maintaining quality service to our customers in all areas of the store and across all offerings/brands
  • Managing the overall performance of the site, and driving operations to ensure this store is maximised
  • Generating financial reports, analysing same and reporting any discrepancies to relevant department/Managing Director
  • Ensure overheads are controlled and minimised where appropriate
  • Take full care of Health & Safety of all personnel and customers in store and ensure any risks are minimised, or where possible, eliminated
  • Ensure Forecourt Health & Safety procedures are in place and operational at all times

Requirements:

  • Come from a convenience background
  • Excellent operational knowledge of retail environment
  • Proven track record in achieving agreed targets
  • Working knowledge of Labour Law, Health & Safety regulations, HACCP, and Consumer Law
  • An excellent commercial acumen with the ability to anticipate and react to market changes

Key Responsibilities

  • Take full responsibility for the overall performance and profitability of the forecourt and convenience store
  • Lead, motivate, coach, and develop a high-performing management and store team
  • Recruit, train, and retain talented employees across all departments
  • Drive sales growth while maximising profitability through effective commercial decision-making
  • Monitor KPIs, sales, margins, labour costs, and shrinkage, implementing action plans where required

  • Oversee stock control, ordering, inventory management, and waste reduction initiatives

  • Manage all cash handling, banking, and financial controls in line with company procedures
  • Produce and analyse financial and operational reports, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety, food safety, HACCP, licensing, and company policies
  • Maintain forecourt safety standards, ensuring all fuel operations comply with legislation and best practice
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers, local customers, and the wider community
  • Drive local marketing initiatives and promotional activity to maximise site performance

Requirements

  • Previous management experience within a high-volume forecourt, convenience retail, or supermarket environment
  • Proven ability to lead large teams and deliver outstanding commercial results
  • Strong experience managing KPIs, sales performance, labour costs, stock control, and profitability
  • Excellent knowledge of retail operations, customer service, and people management
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation, HACCP, employment legislation, and consumer law
  • Commercially focused with the ability to identify opportunities and respond quickly to market trends
