This is an excellent opportunity for an adult-trained Occupational Therapist to lead and deliver a high-quality, adult-focused Occupational Therapy service within a community setting.

Overview:

  • Preferably have adult primary care / adult medical / adult disability / seating / complex cases / neurological / palliative care experience.
  • Need to have access to a car (almost all work is taking place in service users homes in / around the CHN Ballyfermot area (Ballyfermot / Palmerston / Inchicore / Cherry Orchards area) or CHN Clondalkin area (Fonthill, Rowlagh, Neilstown, Clondalkin, Deansrath)
  • Preferably the candidate(s) would also have an enthusiastic attitude and be keen to take on what is a challenging work environment -meaning lower than average staffing levels, and lengthy waiting times.

Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality assessment, intervention, and review for adult clients, particularly older adults and individuals living with frailty.
  • Conduct home visits to assess functional ability, safety, environmental supports, and recommend appropriate equipment or adaptations.
  • Deliver interventions focused on functional rehabilitation, falls prevention, cognitive assessment, and environmental modification.
  • Provide client-centred interventions in outpatient and community settings, developing tailored rehabilitation programmes and education plans.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate goal-focused care plans using best practice and sound clinical reasoning.
  • Monitor outcomes and adapt interventions in collaboration with clients, families, carers, and MDT colleagues.
  • Provide education and guidance to families and carers to support independence at home.
  • Participate in integrated care pathways and frailty initiatives, including joint assessments where required.
  • Contribute to discharge planning, advocacy, and community reintegration.
  • Provide clinical leadership, supervision, and support to junior staff, therapy assistants, and students.

Requirements

  • CORU registration as an Occupational Therapist (essential).
  • Recognised CORU-approved qualification in Occupational Therapy.
  • Preferably have some adult primary care, adult medical, adult disability, seating, complex cases, neurological or palliative care experience.

Role Overview

The Oncology Operations Manager will provide strategic, operational, and clinical leadership across Radiation Oncology services. You will oversee daily operations, quality and safety programmes, regulatory compliance, financial performance, and staff development, while fostering a culture of continuous quality improvement and exceptional patient experience.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Operations Management

  • Lead and coordinate day-to-day operations across Radiation Oncology and Medical Oncology services
  • Provide visible, positive leadership to clinical and non-clinical teams
  • Ensure safe staffing levels and effective scheduling aligned to patient demand
  • Develop, implement, and administer policies and procedures to standardise high-quality patient care
  • Work collaboratively with the Director of Oncology, senior leadership, HR, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Maintain effective communication with patients, staff, and senior stakeholders
  • Support service development, promotion, and advocacy of a positive patient experience

Quality Assurance & Continuous Quality Improvement

  • Place patient safety at the centre of all operational decisions
  • Lead the department QA programme, ensuring compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards
  • Oversee CQI initiatives, chair CQI meetings, set measurable goals, and track outcomes
  • Lead departmental readiness for inspections, audits, and accreditations

Business & Financial Management

  • Manage operational and capital budgets in collaboration with the Director of Oncology
  • Monitor financial performance, productivity, and service volumes
  • Implement efficiency initiatives to enhance revenue and control costs
  • Maintain staffing (FTE) and supply budgets in line with activity levels
  • Oversee billing and revenue capture initiatives alongside the Medical Director

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Radiation Therapy, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field
  • Minimum 3-6 years’ post-qualification experience in progressive management role
  • Master’s Degree (desirable)
  • Background in Radiation Therapy (desirable)
  • Extensive experience (typically 5+ years) within a radiotherapy department, including leadership responsibility
  • Strong operational knowledge of radiotherapy services, workflows, and technologies
  • Proven experience in strategic planning, budgeting, and resource management
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
