Department Manager – Grocery Retail

Our client, a leading international retailer renowned for quality across food, home and lifestyle, is seeking to recruit an experienced Department Manager for their Grocery department in their flag store in West Dublin.

This opportunity is ideally suited to a people-focused retail leader from a high-volume environment, with strong experience in team development, coaching, motivation and succession planning. The successful candidate will have a proven ability to drive performance through an engaged team while delivering exceptional operational standards and customer experience.

Previous grocery or food retail management experience is essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coach, motivate and develop your team to reach their full potential, recognising success and proactively managing performance.
  • Drive store KPIs, sales growth and profitability through an engaged and high-performing team.
  • Lead all operational and people management activities within the store to ensure smooth day-to-day performance.
  • Support the Store Manager in delivering strong commercial results and operational excellence.
  • Create an inclusive, supportive and positive working environment that encourages collaboration and accountability.
  • Ensure exceptional customer service and customer engagement standards are consistently delivered across the store.

Skills & Requirements:

  • 3+ years’ experience in high-volume grocery retail management.
  • Strong people management skills with the ability to lead, motivate and develop high-performing teams while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to interpret sales data and drive performance.
  • Ability to work effectively across multiple departments, including Foodhall, Fashion and Home.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
