My client, a market leader in online retail, is seeking an experienced Fashion Buyer to join their highly successful business. The successful candidate will create a dynamic and commercially successful range with the goal to grow the company’s fashion unit. Responsibilities of this Fashion Buyer role include:
- You determine together with the Head of Buying the category strategy and product range.
- You work closely with your colleagues in the design, development, creation, and management of the supplier portfolio to achieve the right consistency in our range of products.
- You stay abreast of the competitor markets and react to the customer’s needs.
- You achieve the set KPIs in the field of customer sales and profit by working closely with your suppliers and the Merchandise Planning team.
- You work closely with the Merchandise planning team in planning and forecasting the customer sales and gross profit.
- You work closely with marketing to build a relevant marketing trade plan that is relevant for the time of year and customer demand.
- You source direct and in-direct global suppliers that meet the needs of the business.
- You negotiate all cost prices and supplier terms with global suppliers.
Requirements for this Fashion Buyer role include:
- At least 5 years’ experience in product development and buying children’s and/or ladies Private Label Fashion.
- Experience with Far East direct sourcing.
- At least 5 years’ experience leading the range building of your private label collections.
- You can communicate and interact at various levels in the internal and external organisation with the various stakeholders.
- You have strong negotiation and influencing skills.

My client, a modern Irish retailer, is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Buyer to join their team in Dublin city centre. The successful candidate will be involved in the buying of contemporary products in an expanding company. This is a wonderful opportunity to join a strong Irish retail brand that specialises in providing quality clothing and giftware to its customers.

Responsibilities of this Buyer job:
- Plan, develop and execute the pre-season planning of the buy, brand, product selection or development, and conduct range building to cover various categories.
- Source new products, select and develop merchandise assortments which are consistent with the retail strategy.
- Consult with Head of Buying to set rates to achieve gross margin targets in line with budgets.
- Negotiate trade discount, settlement terms and transport arrangements for merchandise.
- Coordinate the supply chain from vendor to warehouse and in store.
- Manage and resolve cost price discrepancies with office/suppliers.
- Keep up to date with trends and competitors in the marketplace.
- Manage and build the commercial and business relationships with our suppliers and partners.
- Consult with the finance team regarding new supplier information.
- Build strong relationships with all internal stakeholders.
Experience required for this Buyer job:
- Strong retail background and previous experience working as a buyer at a similar level.
- Qualification in buying and merchandising is an advantage.
- Strong PC skills including practical experience using Excel.
- Excellent organisation and communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Energetic and enthusiastic with a desire to success.
