Assistant Catering Manager – Cork

Assistant Catering Manager – Meetings & Events Focus | Cork City

I’m working with a leading provider of high-volume catering and hospitality services in Cork City to recruit an energetic and driven Assistant Catering Manager. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate hospitality professional who enjoys a fast-paced, client-facing environment but is also seeking a better work-life balance.

This is not your typical catering management role – it’s a fun, ever-changing, and highly structured position where no two days are the same. You’ll thrive here if you are high-energy, organised, and capable of balancing multiple functions simultaneously while delivering exceptional service across a busy meetings and events operation.

What You’ll Do

  • Coordinate day-to-day catering operations across a busy meetings & events space
  • Support the planning and delivery of high-volume corporate and client events
  • Work closely with clients to ensure all F&B requirements are delivered to the highest standard
  • Supervise, motivate, and allocate duties to front and back-of-house teams
  • Balance multiple functions and event requirements simultaneously in a fast-moving environment
  • Deliver excellent customer service and act as a key point of contact for event clients
  • Assist with stock control, deliveries, and weekly stocktakes
  • Maintain exceptional standards of food presentation, service delivery, and hygiene
  • Ensure seamless communication between kitchen, service, and event teams
  • Ensure all equipment is maintained and health & safety standards are followed
  • Assist in the training, development, and performance of team members
  • Operate a company vehicle onsite as part of daily operational requirements

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in hospitality or catering management
  • A high-energy, hands-on professional who thrives in a busy, pressurised environment
  • Proven ability to multitask and manage several functions and event requirements simultaneously
  • Strong background in meetings, events, or high-volume corporate catering
  • Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Outstanding customer service and client-facing experience
  • Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining high standards
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, HACCP, and hygiene regulations
  • Flexible approach to working hours (events-driven environment)
  • Full clean driving licence (essential – company vehicle required onsite)
  • Must be over 25 years of age (client insurance requirement)
  • Valid work permit for Ireland

Why You’ll Love This Role

  • A unique hospitality role offering better work-life balance than traditional catering management positions
  • A dynamic, engaging, and structured environment within a busy events setting
  • Excellent career progression opportunities within a growing organisation
  • Ongoing training and development
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Meals on duty and uniform provided
  • Bike-to-work and commuter schemes
  • Sick pay and referral incentives
