They are adding to their busy Trade Counter team and are recruiting a full-time Trade Counter Sales Assistant.

Salary: €40k-€45k negotiable but must reflect level of experience.

Hours are 8.30-5 Monday to Friday, 8.30-3 Saturday.

Aside from experience, most importantly I am looking for a bubbly, enthusiastic and sales-driven person with an excellent work ethic; someone who loves customers, enjoys selling, and has excellent product knowledge of building materials.

As a Trade Counter Salesperson:

  • You will have experience on a busy building trade counter
  • You will have excellent product knowledge of building materials and the trade to grasp a good understanding of your customers’ requirements and offer the best advice
  • You will be extremely customer focused, always going the extra mile to resolve any issues or queries in a prompt and efficient manner
  • You will handle cash and issue sales invoices
  • You will be very sales- and target-driven, always offering alternatives for out-of-stock items, and looking for opportunities to upsell
  • You will process orders and arrange delivery, always keeping the customer updated on any stock or delivery issues
  • You will have an excellent phone manner to deal with sales queries over the phone as well as face to face

My client’s brand is well recognised worldwide in their industry, their products stocked in all the leading DIY, Hardware, and Builders Merchants nationwide.

They are recruiting an experienced Sales & Merchandising Rep for existing stores across mostly Dublin, Wicklow, and Kildare – approximately 100 stores.

This job is a mix of 70% merchandising and 30% sales.

Though a background selling into similar retailers is ideal, I welcome candidates with other retail sales experience.

As Retail Merchandiser you will maintain relationships with these large retail outlets, ensuring all products are well-displayed, stocked, and promoted in store, negotiating more space, selling in new lines, promotions and displays.

There may also be an element of product training and instore demonstrations which is a lovely addition

It is especially important that this person comes with energy, enthusiasm to hit sales KPI’s and lots of personality; a likeable individual who is super focused in giving 150% to this role.

Key Responsibilities for the job of Merchandiser & Sales Rep – DIY, Hardware & Builders Merchants

  • Achieve your sale and merchandising targets
  • Conduct instore training and product demonstrations
  • Arrange product displays to align with company standards and promotional campaigns
  • Ensure shelves, racks, and promotional spaces are adequately stocked
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with store staff and management
  • Communicate effectively with store teams to understand their needs and challenges
  • Monitor inventory levels and report low stock or replenishment needs

Trade Counter Salesperson – Electrical Wholesaler

My client with 30 branches nationwide supply electrical products to trade customers.

I am looking for a sales and customer focused Trade Counter Salesperson to join a new branch opening in Gorey.

A 40-hour working week, shifts will be mainly 7am-4am or 8am-5am Monday to Friday with every 2nd or 3rd Saturday 8am-12am.

Although a background in selling electrical products is advantageous, it is not essential, and I welcome retail candidates from a different industry or a tradesperson who wants to down tools.

As Counter Sales Assistant you will provide expert advice, product knowledge, and quotations both over the phone, in person and on email.

Whatever the background I need someone with a bubbly and enthusiastic personality who enjoys consultative selling-taking the time to assess customer requirements and offer expert product knowledge (which can be learned and training given).
