This role is based from the company’s office on Grange Road, Cork.
As Financial Controller, you will oversee the finance function across five stores, reporting directly to the Operations Director while managing a team of three.
The ideal candidate will bring strong commercial awareness, with the ability to analyse business performance and implement solutions that improve profitability through effective management of sales, margin and overheads.
Three years’ experience within a multi-site business would be ideal, coupled with a background in managing a finance team.
Salary & Package:
- €75k-€85k

Key responsibilities for the role of Financial Controller include:
- Prepare accurate period-end management accounts within agreed timelines
- Deliver monthly and quarterly financial reports, KPI dashboards and variance analysis to support informed business decisions
- Review balance sheet reconciliations and ensure any outstanding items are resolved promptly
- Support the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts and wider financial planning activities
- Ensure financial controls are applied consistently across all stores, in line with company policies and statutory obligations
- Proactively identify and reduce financial risk through robust control processes
- Develop and refine finance policies, procedures and controls to protect company assets
- Lead the year-end audit process while ensuring compliance with statutory, tax, Revenue and regulatory requirements
- Manage the finance team and third-party service providers, ensuring service levels, compliance standards and company policies are maintained
- Oversee and support store-level cash office teams, ensuring strong cash management, timely reconciliations and adherence to company procedures
- Carry out regular store profitability reviews, translating financial insight into practical actions that enhance performance
- Collaborate with store management teams to strengthen stock control, reduce shrinkage and improve gross margin performance
- Monitor cash handling, banking and reconciliation procedures, identifying areas for ongoing process improvement
- Track key financial and operational metrics including sales, gross margin, labour costs, overheads, stockholding and profitability
- Complete margin and pricing analysis to support commercial decision-making
- Highlight opportunities to increase profitability, improve operational efficiency and strengthen financial performance across the business
- Prepare financial modelling and business cases to support investment decisions and strategic projects where required
- Partner with the Operations Director and Store Owner to build, challenge and deliver budgets, forecasts and financial plans, providing commercial insight to guide strategic decisions
- Lead, coach and develop the finance team, encouraging accountability and continuous improvement
- Present financial performance, business risks and key recommendations to the Operations Director, Store Owner and senior management team
- Drive continuous improvement across financial systems, reporting tools and finance processes
- Identify opportunities to automate or streamline routine finance processes and improve reporting efficiency
- Lead and support finance-related projects, system implementations and continuous improvement initiatives as needed
