My client, is a leading distribution company supplying products into the Home, Garden and DIY sectors.

They are recruiting a Field Sales Developer to look after 80 existing retail accounts across Down, Donegal, Monaghan, Cavan, Armagh, Derry, Antrim, Tyrone, Fermanagh and Londonderry.

The ideal candidate will live close to Belfast

Competitive salary negotiable but must reflect experience, Sales Commission, Pension, Discounted Health Insurance and Company Vehicle.

The day-to-day job includes visiting an average of 6 stores per day and maintaining relationships with managers and buyers in order to identify and pursue sales opportunities.

The Sales Rep will place orders, sell in promotions, new lines and brands coupled with a small amount of merchandising.

You will ensure the products are getting the best shelf position and the maximum space in order to really stand out.

I am looking for a customer focused and sales driven candidate who has a genuine interest in the industry – relevant sales experience would be ideal but I would welcome a retail candidate looking to get out on the road.

Most importantly I am looking for a bubbly outgoing person who is excellent in influencing and nurturing relationships.

Responsibilities for the job of Business Developer:

  • To work closely with our existing customers to meet and exceed targets
  • To proactively work to identify new customers and new sales channels
  • To achieve new listings in all accounts across multiple sales channels
  • Ensure that credit terms are implemented in line with the business
  • Support cash collection in line with the company plan
  • To schedule sales appointments in our showrooms on a daily basis
  • To work closely with our purchasing team on new product development and implementation within the market

Participation in design team meetings through the design phases offering cost advice to ensure the financial viability of the project without compromising the design.

Ensure that the design team stay cognizant of the most efficient unit types, unit and project layouts and building materials when progressing a scheme design.
·
Liaison with project delivery teams ensuring construction budgets for upcoming developments are robust.
·
Liaising with the sales teams to ensure specifications and budgets properly reflect the market expectations of each project.
·
Taking off Quantities to create Bills of Quantities for upcoming developments, interpreting those BoQ’s to provide site teams with working documents and budgets.
·
Interrogation of current project exit costs to ensure real time cost data is informing new projects.
·
Development / maintenance of a databank of Cairn construction costs to assist the ongoing Cost Estimation and Financial Appraisal process.
·
Prepare Part V applications to Local Authorities and follow those submissions to ensure compliance is achieved.
·
Liaising and engaging PQS consultant to prepare BOQ for the project budget. ensuring the PQS has the latest information.
·
Attend meetings and undertake site visits.
Requirements:
· Post-Graduate experience in PQS/Main Contractor/Developer.
·
An ability to achieve demanding time and quality targets.
·
Good IT skills with competency at Buildsoft-Cubit, Cost-ex or equivalent, Microsoft Word and Excel
·
A willingness to attend training and to develop relevant knowledge, techniques, and skills.
·
To have strong analytical skills and ability to present findings

To have good spoken and written communication skills
·
To be methodical, pay attention to detail and be accurate
·
