Role Purpose:

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct functional and cognitive assessments to identify the needs of older adults within the service.
  • Implement evidence-based OT interventions to promote independence, safety, and quality of life for service users.
  • Manage a defined caseload under the guidance of a Senior Occupational Therapist, ensuring high-quality, recovery-oriented care.
  • Work closely with Geriatric Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Nurses, and Social Workers to provide holistic, integrated care.
  • Participate in regular supervision and engage in continuous professional development (CPD) to enhance clinical skills in later-life mental health.
  • Maintain accurate, timely clinical records and reports in line with professional standards.

Essential Requirements

  • BSc or MSc in Occupational Therapy.
  • CORU registration as an Occupational Therapist (active or in-process).

  • Eligibility for professional registration with the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) or relevant body.
