Our client is the largest acute hospital in Ireland, with over 800 beds following the expansion of the state-of-the-art Cardiac Renal Centre.
The Radiology Department provides a comprehensive, high-quality imaging service on a 24/7 basis, supporting a wide range of specialties and delivering care to a large and diverse patient population.
About the Role
This position offers the opportunity to work as part of a highly skilled and supportive Radiography team, delivering a high-quality General X-Ray service across both routine and emergency settings.
You will play a key role in maintaining clinical standards, supporting junior staff, and contributing to the ongoing development of radiography services within a busy acute hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality General X-Ray imaging services across inpatient, outpatient, and emergency settings
- Contribute to a busy general and emergency radiography service
- Participate in on-call and out-of-hours services as required
- Maintain excellent standards of patient care and professional practice
* Ensure adherence to radiation protection principles (justification, optimisation, ALARA, and dose limits)
* Work effectively with RIS, PACS, and other hospital systems
- Support junior radiographers and contribute to a positive team environment
- Report equipment issues and maintain a safe, compliant working environment
- Engage in CPD, training, and continuous service improvement initiatives
Team Structure
You will be working within a well-established team structure including:
* Clinical Lead (Consultant Radiologist)
* Radiography Service Manager 3
* Radiography Service Manager 1
* Clinical Specialist / Superintendent Radiographers
* Senior Radiographers
* Staff Grade Radiographers
Eligibility Criteria
- Degree/Diploma in Radiography
- CORU registration (essential)
- Proven experience in General Radiography, suitable for a Senior grade role
- Experience in a busy acute hospital setting is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of radiation safety and HSE guidelines
- Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Available to start work in 4-6 weeks.
