Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments for children with developmental and functional needs
  • Develop and implement individualised, evidence-based therapy plans
  • Deliver clinic-based therapy sessions, school visits, home visits, and group interventions
  • Support children presenting with Autism, DCD, ADHD, intellectual disability, physical disability, and other neurodevelopmental conditions
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary Primary Care team including Speech & Language Therapists, Physiotherapists, Psychologists, and Public Health Nurses
  • Liaise with parents, teachers, SNAs, and community professionals to ensure a holistic approach to care
  • Provide education, practical strategies, and therapy supports for families and schools
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with HSE, CORU, and local policies
  • Participate in team meetings, service development, audits, and quality improvement initiatives
  • Engage in ongoing supervision, CPD, and reflective practice

Candidate Requirements

  • Recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy
  • CORU Registration as an Occupational Therapist (Essential)
  • Experience or a strong interest in Paediatric Occupational Therapy
  • Knowledge of developmental milestones, sensory processing, handwriting interventions, and functional skill development
  • Experience with DCD assessments, neurodivergence, autism, CAMHS or paediatric disability services desirable
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisation and time-management abilities
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Access to a car is not essential, however candidates should be comfortable travelling occasionally between Inchicore and Ballyfermot centres via public transport.
