Excel Recruitment is currently recruiting Catering Assistants for a variety of clients across the Cork region, including healthcare facilities, nursing homes, contract catering sites, hotels, restaurants, and corporate dining environments. Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and presentation of food in line with company standards.
- Serve food and beverages in a professional and friendly manner.
- Maintain high levels of hygiene and food safety at all times.
- Follow HACCP guidelines and all health & safety procedures.
- Keep kitchen, dining, and food preparation areas clean and organised.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Wash dishes, utensils and food service equipment as required.
- Assist chefs and kitchen teams with food preparation tasks.
- Replenish food and beverage stations during service periods.
- Support the catering team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a catering, kitchen, hospitality, or food service environment is desirable.
- HACCP Level 2 certification preferred (training can be provided).
- Manual Handling certification preferred (training can be provided).
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Flexible and reliable approach to work.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet service deadlines.
- Good understanding of food hygiene and cleanliness standards.
Desirable Experience
- Experience working in healthcare, nursing home, or hospital settings.
- Cash handling and customer-facing experience.
- Knowledge of allergen awareness and food safety regulations.
