Team Leader – Supermarket – Co. Waterford
Excel Recruitment is currently recruiting a Team Leader for our client’s busy supermarket in Co. Waterford. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced retail professional to join a successful supermarket and support the day-to-day running of the store while leading and motivating a high-performing team.
Salary: €35k – €36k
Responsibilities:
- Support the daily operation of the store, ensuring excellent customer service and high operational standards
- Lead, motivate, and supervise the store team to achieve sales and performance targets
- Assist with staff training, coaching, and development to build a knowledgeable and engaged team
- Ensure shelves are fully stocked, merchandise is presented to a high standard, and stock availability is maintained
- Monitor stock levels, minimise waste, and support inventory control procedures
- Assist with opening and closing the store, including cash handling and security procedures
- Ensure compliance with company policies, health & safety, and food safety regulations
- Handle customer queries and resolve issues professionally to ensure a positive shopping experience
- Support the Store Manager with the day-to-day management of the store and step into a supervisory role when required
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a Team Leader, Supervisor, or senior retail role within a supermarket, convenience store, or grocery retail environment
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Commercial awareness with an understanding of sales, merchandising, and stock control
- A hands-on approach with the ability to lead by example
- Flexible to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and evenings as required
