Psychiatric Nurse Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of patients
  • Practice nursing according to local policies and current legislation
  • Promote good interpersonal relationships with patients, their relatives and other colleagues
  • Act as a mentor to junior staff and students
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary meetings and collaborate with the rest of the team on review of care plans and discharge plans

Psychiatric Nurse Requirements:

  • Psychiatric Nursing qualification
  • Registered with the NMBI in the Psychiatric Division
  • Some experience in a similar role is desirable
  • Excellent communication skills
