Excel Recruitment are currently seeking a Transport Clerk to join a fast-paced and busy courier operation based in Dublin. This is a key role supporting the day-to-day transport and logistics function, ensuring efficient routing, accurate documentation, and excellent customer service.

This position is ideal for someone organised, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a high-volume environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily transport schedules and route planning for drivers
  • Communicate effectively with drivers regarding deliveries, collections, and any issues on route
  • Input and update delivery data accurately on internal systems
  • Monitor vehicle movement and ensure timely delivery performance
  • Handle customer queries and provide updates on consignments
  • Manage and organise paperwork, including delivery dockets and proof of delivery
  • Liaise with warehouse and operations teams to ensure smooth flow of goods
  • Escalate any delivery or operational issues promptly

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a transport, logistics, or courier environment (preferred)
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Good IT skills – experience with transport management systems is an advantage
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
  • Flexibility with working hours (early starts / occasional weekends may be required)

Transport Manager -(Romanian speaker)

At Excel Recruitment, we are currently recruiting a Transport Manager on behalf of our client based in Dublin 22.

The role of the Transport Manager is to actively manage operations through active involvement in the day-to-day running of the transport department.

Duties

  • Acting as a key member of the logistics management team by actively demonstrating the standards, behaviours, and values to drive team effectiveness across the business
  • Ensure that the company operates within all agreed operational procedures, and within all statutory requirements.
  • Assess workload and resources available to ensure key tasks and duties are carried out within the desired time frame and deadline
  • Manage client queries, and complaints in a timely and professional manner
  • Solve operational problems as quickly and efficiently as possible.
  • Identify and report to management on the department’s needs and requirements.
  • Manage & develop business by focusing on customer relationships and support to Sales teams where needed
  • Ensure company and customer requirements are fulfilled as per SOP’s
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships within the company in order to overall knowledge of the workings of the company and it’s employees improve

Requirements

  • Fluent Romanian is essential – with a level of English
  • A minimum of 5 years’ previous experience at Supervisory level in a similar role is Essential.
  • Experience using Transport Management systems is desirable
  • Valid National C.P.C. (Desirable)
  • Good knowledge of Dublin and the greater Dublin area
  • Highly organised with robust planning ability
  • Motivated and reliable
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word/Excel.
  • Work well as part of a team.

This is a full-time permanent position, offering €60-€65k per annum DOE.
