Job Title: Occupational Therapist (Primary Care Adult)
Location: East Limerick or north Tipperary base
Contract: Agency contract, fulltime, 35 hours per week

Excel Recruitment are recruiting experienced Staff grade Occupational Therapist’s on behalf of Primary Care Team in East Limerick and north Tipperary. The successful candidate can work in East Limerick or north Tipperary.

This is an excellent opportunity to work in a community setting, providing essential Occupational Therapy services to adults requiring intervention to enhance their functional abilities and quality of life.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Occupational Therapy interventions to adults within the Primary Care setting.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualised care plans to promote functional independence in activities of daily living (ADLs).
  • Provide intervention in areas such as self-care, mobility, housing adaptations, equipment prescription, and falls prevention.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, including Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Public Health Nurses, and GPs.
  • Supervise and support junior staff, students, and Occupational Therapy Assistants, ensuring high standards of practice.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of service improvement initiatives within the Primary Care team.

Requirements:

  • Be registered on the Occupational Therapists Register maintained by the Occupational Therapists Registration Board at CORU.
  • Minimum of three years post-qualification experience, with at least one year in a relevant area such as Primary Care, Community, or Rehabilitation.
  • Strong experience in assessment and intervention planning within a community or primary care setting.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary colleagues and service users.
  • Experience in mentoring and supervising junior staff or students is desirable.
  • A full driver’s license and access to a vehicle are essential.
  • Current residency in Ireland with the legal right to work without restrictions.

Locum Phyisotherapist

Excel Healthcare are hiring a Locum Physiotherapist on behalf of our highly specialized hospital client in South Co. Dublin. This is a 3-month, flexible contract with scope for extension and a fantastic opportunity for a staff grade Physiotherapist interested in working with patients who have acquired a physical or cognitive disability and require specialized care.

This client has recently expanded their state-of-the-art facility, adding extra gym facilities including a hydrotherapy pool. These resources allow the physiotherapy team to deliver advanced and specialized rehabilitation programmes. Patients are not acutely unwell and can include those with acquired brain injuries, spinal cord injuries or those post-stroke. They also provide a stroke programme, paediatric rehab and prosthetic, orthotic or limb absence rehab.

The physiotherapy department are a dedicated team with differing levels of experience who work very closely with the nurses and healthcare assistants to ensure patient needs are met. There are multiple positions available, and this is a terrific opportunity for staff grade physiotherapists of all levels to work in one of Ireland’s leading rehabilitation hospitals.

This role may suit someone who is looking to work on a casual full or part time basis or someone who needs flexibility and may not wish to commit to a full-time permanent contract

Responsibilities for this Locum Physiotherapist

  • Carry a caseload of patients under the direction of a Senior Physiotherapist
  • Deliver individual patient rehabilitation programmes
  • Provide instruction and guidance to the nursing staff and healthcare assistants
  • Communicate clearly with other members of the MDT regarding patient’s plan of care and their progress

Job requirements

  • Registered with CORU
  • 1+ years as a staff grade physio
  • Some experience in rehabilitation is an advantage
  • Available immediately
