Purpose of the Role:
As a Staff Grade Physiotherapist in Primary Care, your role will focus on assessing, treating, and managing a wide range of musculoskeletal, neurological, and age-related conditions. Your work will aim to enhance mobility, promote functional independence, support hospital discharge planning, and contribute to long-term health outcomes for patients living in the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive physiotherapy assessments for clients with diverse needs including musculoskeletal injuries, neurological conditions, falls, and mobility impairments.
- Develop, implement, and review individualised treatment and rehabilitation plans.
- Provide timely and appropriate physiotherapy interventions in the community setting to prevent hospital admissions and support early discharges.
- Collaborate effectively with other members of the interdisciplinary team including Occupational Therapists, Nurses, GPs, and Physiotherapy Assistants.
- Engage in service planning and contribute to clinical audits, quality improvements, and the development of community physiotherapy services.
- Participate in regular clinical supervision and ongoing professional development activities.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation and ensure best practice in line with CORU standards.

Requirements:
- BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy or equivalent qualification recognised by CORU.
- Current and active CORU registration as a Physiotherapist.
- A minimum of 1 year of post-graduate experience as a physiotherapist.
- Excellent interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team.
- A full clean Irish driver’s licence and access to a car for community visits.

This is a 3-month, flexible contract with scope for extension and a fantastic opportunity for a staff grade Physiotherapist interested in working with patients who have acquired a physical or cognitive disability and require specialized care.
This client has recently expanded their state-of-the-art facility, adding extra gym facilities including a hydrotherapy pool. These resources allow the physiotherapy team to deliver advanced and specialized rehabilitation programmes. Patients are not acutely unwell and can include those with acquired brain injuries, spinal cord injuries or those post-stroke. They also provide a stroke programme, paediatric rehab and prosthetic, orthotic or limb absence rehab.
The physiotherapy department are a dedicated team with differing levels of experience who work very closely with the nurses and healthcare assistants to ensure patient needs are met. There are multiple positions available, and this is a terrific opportunity for staff grade physiotherapists of all levels to work in one of Ireland’s leading rehabilitation hospitals.
