General Operative
Excel Recruitment is currently looking for an experienced Warehouse Operative to join their busy client’s team in Ashbourne, Co. Meath. This role is perfect for individuals who are reliable, hardworking, and keen to contribute to the smooth operation of a dynamic warehouse environment.

Responsibilities
- Assist with the loading, unloading, and movement of goods within the warehouse, including loading pallets and managing packages/products.
- Organise and maintain stock to ensure efficient inventory management.
- Operate warehouse equipment safely and effectively, using appropriate equipment.
- Follow health and safety guidelines at all times to maintain a safe working environment.
- Support team members to meet daily and weekly operational targets and assist with general warehouse duties including receiving, sorting, and dispatching goods.
- Participate in stock takes, quality control checks, and regular training and development opportunities.
- Report any damages, discrepancies, or other issues to the supervisor promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the workplace to ensure a safe environment.
- Flexibility to perform other duties as required and support team members with daily operational tasks and ad-hoc projects.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse or general operative role is beneficial but not essential; full training including Manual Handling will be provided.
- Basic understanding of health and safety standards.
- Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
- Physically fit and able to handle manual tasks.
- Reliable with a strong work ethic and ability to think on your feet.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including shifts if necessary.
- Own transport is desirable.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.

Day-to-Day
A typical day may include receiving deliveries, sorting and storing stock, packing orders for dispatch, loading pallets, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment. You’ll start the shift by reviewing daily tasks and safety briefings, collaborate closely with colleagues and supervisors to ensure targets are met and problems are resolved quickly, participate in regular breaks adhering to health and safety standards, and conclude the day by tidying work areas and preparing for the next shift. With a commitment to safety and quality, your role will be vital in supporting the efficiency of the warehouse operation.
