Excel Recruitment is thrilled to be recruiting for a Youth Worker in Carryduff on a permanent full-time basis with a salary of £32,000 per year.

If you’re passionate about making a difference in the lives of vulnerable children and young people, this is the role for you! Please note you must be fully flexible to cover shifts that include evenings, weekends and unsocial hours on a rota basis.

The Client:

• Since 2016, our client has been a trusted provider of specialist residential care for vulnerable and traumatised children and young people. They offer highly personalised care in nurturing, stable, and trauma-informed environments, helping young people thrive and build brighter futures. They are dedicated to creating safe, nurturing environments for vulnerable children in crisis.

The Role:

With a full spec available on request, as a Youth Worker you will:

• Ensure children feel secure and cared for in their surroundings.
• Address physical, emotional, and developmental needs according to care plans and standards.
• Help children engage in daily activities, education, and appointments.
• Promote skills for independence, coping, and emotional wellbeing.
• Develop trusting and supportive connections with children through consistent care.
• Provide support during challenging situations and help children learn healthier coping strategies.
• Record any unplanned support sessions accurately for tracking progress.

The Person:

• At least 1 year of experience working with challenging behaviours.
• Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject.
• Full UK or Irish driving licence for over 1 year, with no more than 3 penalty points.
• Ability to get an Enhanced Access NI or Enhanced DBS check.
• Willingness to register with, or already registered with, the Northern Ireland Social Care Council if applicable.

On Offer:

• £32,000 per year.
• £250 bonus every 6 months.
