Warehouse & Distribution Operative

Excel Recruitment is seeking an enthusiastic and suitably experienced Warehouse Operative on behalf of a leading distribution company based in Belfast. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous warehouse or stores experience who is ready to hit the ground running and become a valued member of a busy distribution team. You will receive ongoing guidance and mentoring from experienced colleagues to help you develop your skills, build confidence and succeed in the role.

Mon-Fri 8.30-17.00

This is initially a temporary position with the view of going permanent after a probationary period.

Responsibilities

• Picking, packing and preparing customer orders accurately and efficiently for dispatch.
• Checking products, quantities and order details to ensure all goods are correct and ready for delivery.
• Receiving deliveries, checking incoming stock and ensuring goods are stored safely and correctly.
• Operating cutting equipment as required, following the relevant safety procedures.
• Preparing, labelling and organising products to ensure orders are ready for collection or delivery.
• Loading and unloading deliveries and moving stock safely around the warehouse.
• Maintaining a clean, tidy and organised working environment.
• Following company health and safety procedures and always ensuring safe working practices.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues to meet daily targets, maintain accuracy and ensure orders are dispatched on time.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a warehouse operative or in a similar warehouse or stores role, with a minimum of 1 year’s relevant experience.
• An enthusiastic, reliable and hardworking approach, with a willingness to get involved in all aspects of the role.
• Good attention to detail and the ability to pick, check and prepare orders accurately.
• Ability to follow instructions, work independently when required and contribute positively to a busy team.
• Willingness to undertake manual handling duties and work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
• A strong commitment to health and safety, accuracy and maintaining high working standards.
• A proactive attitude and willingness to learn, take guidance and develop your skills through ongoing mentoring.
