Supermarket Store Manager – Ardee, Co. Louth

Excel Recruitment on behalf of our client, a large and well-established supermarket, is currently seeking an experienced Supermarket Store Manager to lead a high-performing store in Ardee, Co. Louth.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for a commercially focused retail professional who is comfortable taking full ownership of store performance. The role offers the autonomy to drive standards, lead large teams, and deliver strong sales results in a fast-paced supermarket environment.

This position will suit a Supermarket Store Manager with a proven background in high-volume retail, someone who leads from the front, enjoys accountability, and takes genuine pride in developing people while delivering consistent commercial outcomes.

Salary: €60k – €65k plus bonus

Key Responsibilities of this Supermarket Store Manager:

• You will have full responsibility for the day-to-day operation of a busy supermarket, leading, motivating, and developing a large team of approximately 70-80 staff across management and colleague levels
• You will manage and drive weekly store sales typically in the region of €250k-€300k, ensuring strong control over margins, costs, and overall profitability
• The role involves maintaining high standards across customer service, merchandising, stock control, and store presentation, while ensuring smooth daily operations
• You will oversee recruitment, training, and performance management, building a strong, engaged, and high-performing team
• Working closely with senior management, you will analyse KPIs, sales data, and reports to identify opportunities for improvement and implement clear, effective action plans
• Ensuring full compliance with health & safety legislation, HACCP, and company policies will be a key part of the role, alongside fostering a positive and professional store culture

Requirements of this Supermarket Store Manager:

• This role would suit someone with proven experience as a Supermarket Store Manager or in a senior management position within a supermarket or large convenience retail environment
• You’ll bring a strong track record of managing large teams and overseeing high weekly sales volumes €250k
• A commercially driven mindset, strong leadership capability, and the ability to perform confidently in a fast-paced, high-pressure retail setting are essential
• Excellent organisational, communication, and decision-making skills will be key to success in this role
