Supermarket Manager – Dublin

Our client, a leading retailer in Ireland, is looking for an experienced Supermarket Manager to take charge of a large-format, high-volume grocery operation in Dublin.

This opportunity is ideally suited to a proven retail leader who has built their career within ambient grocery, fresh food, or supermarket management and is comfortable leading large teams in a fast-paced trading environment. You’ll be joining a business that values strong leadership, operational excellence, and customer-first thinking.

Salary: €50k – €55k plus bonus and company pension

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate, and develop a management team and workforce of up to 150 employees
• Drive all aspects of store performance including sales, profitability, labour control, and operational efficiency
• Ensure exceptional standards across fresh food, ambient grocery, backdoor operations, and customer service
• Create a positive and high-performance culture focused on accountability and continuous improvement
• Monitor store KPIs and implement action plans to maximise sales and profitability
• Analyse trading reports, identify trends, and react quickly to commercial opportunities
• Manage wage budgets while maintaining excellent service levels throughout the store
• Oversee stock control, waste management, shrink reduction, and inventory accuracy
• Ensure all departments achieve company standards in presentation, merchandising, and availability
• Support, mentor, and develop Department Managers and Supervisors to achieve their full potential
• Lead recruitment, succession planning, and employee development initiatives
• Maintain the highest standards of food safety, health & safety, and compliance
• Build strong relationships with customers and ensure an outstanding shopping experience at all times

The Ideal Candidate

We are keen to speak with ambitious retail professionals who can demonstrate:

• Previous experience as a Supermarket Manager, Grocery Manager, Operations Manager, Deputy Manager, or Senior Retail Manager
• Strong experience within supermarket, grocery, or food retail environments.
• A background in either ambient grocery, fresh food retail, or multi-department supermarket operations
• Experience managing stores with weekly turnover between €500,000 and €1 million+.
• Proven leadership of large teams, ideally 100-150 employees or more
• Strong commercial awareness and an ability to influence store profitability
• Excellent people management and coaching skills
• A hands-on leadership style with the ability to lead from the shop floor
• Experience driving sales growth and delivering against key business metrics
• Outstanding organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills
• A passion for retail and delivering an exceptional customer experience
