Supermarket General Manager – Limerick

We are currently recruiting an experienced Supermarket General Manager to lead a busy, high-performing retail operation in Limerick.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused retail manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment and knows how to deliver strong results through great people, excellent standards, and outstanding customer service.

As General Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day and commercial performance of the store. You will lead from the front, develop your management team, drive sales and profitability, and ensure consistently high standards across all departments.

Key Responsibilities

• Take full responsibility for the overall performance and profitability of the supermarket
• Lead, motivate, and develop a large team, including department and senior managers
• Drive sales, margin, and operational performance while controlling costs and payroll
• Ensure excellent standards across fresh food, grocery, customer service, merchandising, and store presentation
• Analyse KPIs and trading performance, identifying opportunities to increase sales and improve profitability
• Deliver exceptional customer service and create a positive shopping experience
• Manage stock levels, availability, waste, shrinkage, and inventory controls
• Ensure all company policies, food safety, health & safety, and compliance standards are maintained
• Recruit, train, coach, and develop employees to build a strong management pipeline
• Work closely with suppliers, support functions, and senior leadership to achieve business objectives

Experience Required

• Previous experience as a Store Manager, General Manager, or senior retail manager within a supermarket, grocery, or high-volume food retail environment
• Strong commercial awareness with experience managing sales, margins, payroll, and store costs
• Proven ability to lead and develop large teams
• Excellent understanding of supermarket operations and fresh food standards
• Strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills
• A hands-on leadership style with the ability to perform in a busy, demanding environment
• Track record of delivering against KPIs and improving store performance
