Supermarket Department Manager – South Dublin

Our client, a leading retailer in Ireland, is seeking ambitious and motivated Department Managers to join their stores across South Dublin.

Opportunities are available across multiple departments, including Fresh Foods, Ambient Grocery, Online/Click & Collect, and HR. These roles offer an excellent platform for experienced retail professionals who enjoy leading teams, driving performance, and delivering exceptional customer experiences.

As a Supermarket Department Manager, you will take full ownership of your department, leading a dedicated team while ensuring operational excellence, commercial success, and outstanding customer service. Working closely with the Store Management team, you will play a key role in achieving store targets and maintaining best-in-class standards.

Salary: €42k – €45k DOE + Bonus + Pension

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate, and develop a team within your department
• Drive sales, margins, and departmental KPIs
• Ensure excellent customer service standards are consistently delivered
• Manage stock levels, ordering, and inventory control
• Maintain strong merchandising and presentation standards
• Monitor productivity and labour costs within your department
• Deliver departmental targets and contribute to overall store performance
• Coach and support colleagues through training and development initiatives
• Ensure compliance with food safety, health & safety, and company policies
• Analyse reports and identify opportunities to improve sales and efficiency

Ideal Candidate

• Experience as a Department Manager, Assistant Manager, Duty Manager, or Senior Supervisor within grocery or supermarket retail
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Commercial awareness with a track record of delivering results
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced retail environment
• Passion for customer service and operational excellence
• Experience in Fresh Food, Ambient, Online Operations, or HR is highly desirable
• Driven, proactive, and focused on continuous improvement
