Supermarket Manager – Dublin

Excel Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced and commercially focused Ambient Manager to join a high-performing supermarket in Dublin.

This is an excellent opportunity for a strong grocery retail manager who enjoys driving standards, developing teams and taking ownership of a busy ambient department.

Salary: €40,000 – €42,000 plus bonus

Key Responsibilities:

• Take full responsibility for the day-to-day management and performance of the ambient grocery department
• Lead, motivate and develop the ambient team, ensuring effective delegation and productivity
• Drive sales, availability, margin and overall department performance
• Maintain excellent standards across merchandising, promotional displays and store presentation
• Manage stock levels, ordering, replenishment and stock rotation to maximise availability
• Monitor waste, shrinkage and stock losses, implementing controls where required
• Ensure promotional activity, seasonal changes and new product launches are executed effectively
• Monitor departmental KPIs and sales performance, identifying opportunities for improvement
• Plan staffing and daily workloads to ensure the department operates efficiently
• Work closely with the Store Manager and wider management team to achieve overall store targets
• Deliver consistently high standards of customer service
• Ensure all company procedures, health & safety requirements and operational standards are maintained

The Ideal Candidate:

• Previous experience as an Ambient Manager, Grocery Manager, Duty Manager, Assistant Manager or Department Manager within supermarket retail
• Strong knowledge of grocery operations, merchandising, stock management and replenishment
• Proven ability to lead and motivate a busy retail team
• Commercially aware with a strong understanding of sales, margin, waste and KPIs
• Excellent organisational and communication skills
• Hands-on management style with high standards around availability and presentation
• Ambitious and keen to progress within supermarket management
