Retail Assistant Manager
Excel Recruitment is partnering with a well‑known Irish retail brand to recruit an experienced Assistant Manager for a busy store in Galway City. This is a fantastic opportunity for a people‑focused leader from a retail or hospitality background who thrives in a fast‑paced, customer‑facing environment and enjoys driving sales while leading a fun, energetic team.
This business is all about creating memorable customer experiences and delivering strong commercial results. You’ll work closely with the Store Manager to support the day‑to‑day operation of the store, motivate the team, and ensure high standards across service, sales, and presentation.
Key responsibilities:
- Support the Store Manager in the overall running of a high‑volume retail store
- Drive sales performance and KPI delivery
- Lead by example on the shop floor, delivering exceptional customer experiences
- Coach, train, and motivate a team in a fast‑paced environment
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing team development
- Manage daily operations including opening/closing, cash handling, and stock control
- Ensure visual merchandising and store standards are consistently maintained
- Handle customer queries and complaints confidently and professionally
About you:
- Previous people management experience in retail or hospitality is essential
- Proven ability to work in a fast‑paced, sales‑focused environment
- Energetic, hands‑on leader who enjoys being on the shop floor
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Flexible, reliable, and motivated to progress your management career
