An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Business Resilience & Continuity professional to join a major organisation operating within critical national infrastructure. This is a highly visible position where you will lead the development and implementation of an enterprise-wide resilience framework, ensuring the organisation can effectively prepare for, respond to, and recover from operational disruptions in an increasingly complex risk environment.

Working closely with senior leadership, you will drive resilience strategy, business continuity planning, crisis management capabilities, and resilience-focused decision making across the organisation. This role will suit a strategic thinker with strong stakeholder management skills who can influence at executive level and champion a culture of preparedness and continuous improvement.

Key Duties
- Lead the development and ongoing enhancement of the organisation’s business resilience framework
- Embed resilience principles into strategic planning, operational processes, major projects, and investment decisions
- Drive the integration of resilience objectives within enterprise risk management frameworks
- Develop and oversee business continuity and crisis management strategies across the organisation
- Lead crisis simulations, resilience exercises, and testing programmes
- Provide guidance and support to senior leadership during major incidents and disruptive events
- Monitor emerging risks, geopolitical developments, industry trends, and regulatory changes
- Deliver resilience intelligence, reporting, and recommendations to executive stakeholders
- Chair and lead cross-functional resilience forums and working groups
- Build strong relationships across multiple business functions to promote resilience best practice
- Engage with external stakeholders including regulators, suppliers, and industry bodies
- Develop resilience awareness initiatives and training programmes for employees
- Drive continuous improvement through lessons learned, risk assessments, and industry benchmarking
Requirements & Desirable Experience
- Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in business resilience, business continuity, crisis management, risk management, or a related discipline
- Degree qualification or equivalent professional qualification in a relevant field
- Experience designing, implementing, and overseeing resilience and/or business continuity frameworks
- Strong understanding of enterprise risk management principles
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
- Ability to communicate complex information clearly to a wide range of audiences
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
- Experience operating within a large, complex, or regulated environment
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines
- Professional certifications in Business Continuity, Resilience, Risk Management, or a related discipline would be advantageous
- Experience within the energy, utilities, infrastructure, or critical services sectors would be beneficial but is not essential
