Horticulturist

Our client, a highly successful Irish garden centre chain is seeking a Horticulturist to join their busy team in Co. Waterford.

As Horticulturist you will work alongside the Garden Centre Manager and Branch Manager in the running of a busy garden centre and providing customers with a first-class experience.

Known for their excellent plants and gardening product offering coupled with fantastic product knowledge, this is a wonderful opportunity to join our client and be essential to the success of the branch.

Responsibilities of this job:

• Maximising the sales potential of the garden centre and garden products
• Maintaining control of all stock to ensure a fresh offering to the customer
• Ensuring that all garden centre displays are immaculate and appealing to the customer
• Providing top quality, fast, efficient and friendly service at all times
• Building trusting relationships with customers and providing excellent service and advice
• Ensuring that health & safety requirements are met at all times

Skills and experience required for this job:

• A qualification in Horticulture
• Relevant retail garden centre experience
• Knowledge and interest in the retail gardening industry
• A friendly outgoing personality
• Excellent customer service skills
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills

Salary package:

• Excellent hourly rate DOE
• Good working hours – 40 hours per week
