HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) Driver

Excel Recruitment is seeking an experienced and professional HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) Driver on behalf of our client based in Belfast. This is a fantastic opportunity to secure a permanent, full-time position with a well-established transport company offering excellent rates of pay, long-term job security, and a modern fleet.

We’re looking for a reliable driver with a strong commitment to safety, compliance, and outstanding customer service.

Responsibilities

• Operate Class 1 vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any faults.
• Comply with Driver’s Hours, tachograph and transport regulations.
• Ensure loads are secure before each journey.
• Complete deliveries on time and within scheduled delivery windows.
• Accurately complete delivery paperwork and report any issues.
• Follow all customer site and health & safety procedures.
• Deliver excellent customer service at every delivery point.

Requirements

• Full UK Class 1 (C+E) driving licence.
• Valid Driver CPC qualification.
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
• Minimum of 2 year’s HGV driving experience.
• Previous experience driving articulated vehicles in a distribution or logistics environment.
• Strong understanding of transport legislation and compliance requirements.
• Good knowledge of the Northern Ireland road network is highly beneficial.
• Good standard of spoken and written English.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively and follow planned routes.
• A safety-first attitude with excellent attention to detail.
