Garment Technologist

My client, a leading international retailer, is seeking a Garment Technologist to join their Quality Assurance team. This role will support the development and delivery of high-quality, safe, compliant and commercially sound clothing and accessories products across a range of apparel categories. This is a Dublin-based, permanent position offering excellent career development opportunities.

Responsibilities of this Garment Technologist role include:

• Support the product development process, ensuring clothing samples meet agreed quality standards, specifications and timelines.
• Assess garment quality, construction, fit, fabric performance and testing requirements across assigned clothing categories.
• Review garment samples and investigate quality issues or sample rejections, working closely with Buying teams and suppliers.
• Review and approve product specification sheets, technical documentation and garment information.
• Manage product testing submissions and reporting across suppliers and clothing categories.
• Compile and analyse tech packs, quality reports and supplier scorecards to support product performance and cost efficiencies.
• Work with Compliance teams to ensure clothing products meet relevant legal, regulatory, labelling and quality requirements.

Requirements of this Garment Technologist role include:

• Previous experience within Clothing Technology, Garment Technology, Quality Assurance, Product Development or a similar technical apparel role.
• Experience working within fashion retail, clothing manufacturing, sourcing or a supplier environment.
• Strong understanding of garment construction, fabrics, fit, quality standards and product testing.
• Experience reviewing garment specifications, tech packs and technical documentation.
• Commercial awareness with the ability to balance product quality, cost and speed to market.
