Hotel Duty Manager – Waterford

Working closely with the senior leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day running of the hotel, ensuring outstanding service standards, smooth operations and memorable experiences for every guest.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operation of the hotel across Front Office, Food & Beverage, Accommodation and Events.
• Act as a visible and approachable leader, ensuring high standards of service are maintained throughout the property.
• Deliver exceptional guest experiences and professionally handle guest feedback, queries and complaints.
• Support, motivate and develop team members across multiple departments.
• Work closely with department managers to drive operational excellence and service consistency.
• Assist in the successful delivery of weddings, conferences, events and group bookings.
• Conduct regular operational walk-throughs to ensure standards of cleanliness, presentation and maintenance are consistently achieved.
• Assist with staff training, coaching and ongoing development initiatives.
• Monitor daily business levels and support labour management in line with operational requirements.
• Support the achievement of departmental and hotel financial objectives.
• Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety, HACCP and company procedures.
• Act as Manager on Duty, taking ownership of operational issues and guest concerns when required.

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience in a Duty Manager, Assistant Manager, Food & Beverage Manager or similar hotel leadership role.
• Strong understanding of hotel operations with exposure to both Rooms Division and Food & Beverage.
• A natural leader with a positive, hands-on approach and strong people skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Strong organisational, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• A genuine passion for hospitality and guest service.
• Ability to remain calm and effective in a busy operational environment.
• Flexible approach to working hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
• Full legal right to work in Ireland.
