Duty Manager – Supermarket – Co. Tipperary

Excel Recruitment is currently recruiting a Duty Manager for our client’s busy supermarket in Co. Tipperary. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced retail professional to take on a key management role within a successful supermarket, supporting daily operations, leading a motivated team, and ensuring excellent standards of customer service and store performance.

Salary: €35k – €37k

Responsibilities:

• Support the Store Manager with the day-to-day running of the supermarket, ensuring smooth and efficient operations across all departments
• Lead, supervise, and motivate the store team to deliver excellent customer service and maintain high operational standards
• Oversee stock replenishment, merchandising, product availability, and store presentation to ensure the shop floor is maintained to a high standard
• Monitor sales performance, stock control, waste management, and labour costs to support store profitability and achieve business targets
• Assist with staff rostering, training, and performance management while ensuring effective communication across departments
• Ensure full compliance with company policies, food safety, HACCP, health & safety, cash handling, and security procedures

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Duty Manager, Trainee Manager, Assistant Manager, Team Leader, or experienced Retail Supervisor within a supermarket, convenience store, or grocery retail environment
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise, motivate, and develop a busy retail team
• Good commercial awareness with an understanding of sales performance, stock management, merchandising, and waste control
• Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
• Customer-focused with a hands-on management approach and a commitment to maintaining high store standards
• Flexible and reliable with the ability to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends, in a fast-paced retail environment
