Deli Assistant Manager – Convenience Store – Co. Kildare

Excel Recruitment is currently recruiting a Deli Assistant Manager for our client’s busy convenience store in Co. Kildare. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced deli professional looking to take the next step in their career and support the management of a high-performing fresh food department.

Salary: €16 – €17 per hour

Responsibilities:

• Support the Deli Manager in the day-to-day running of the deli department
• Ensure high standards of food quality, freshness, and presentation are consistently maintained
• Supervise, train, and motivate staff to deliver excellent customer service
• Assist with stock control, ordering, waste management, and margin performance
• Ensure full compliance with HACCP, food safety, and health & safety regulations
• Monitor sales performance and help identify opportunities to drive revenue
• Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness, organisation, and merchandising
• Step in to manage the department in the absence of the Deli Manager
• Work closely with store management and other departments to ensure smooth operations

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a deli supervisory or senior deli role within a supermarket, convenience store, or forecourt
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to support and develop a team
• Good knowledge of HACCP, food safety, and hygiene standards
• Experience working towards sales and margin targets
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Passion for fresh food and delivering high standards
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including early mornings and weekends
