Deli Assistant – Co. Cork

Excel Recruitment is looking for a Deli Assistant to join our client’s busy convenience store in Co. Cork. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and customer-focused individual to work in a fast-paced deli environment, providing top-quality service and food to the local community.

Salary: €15 – €16 per hour

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve fresh food items such as sandwiches, salads, and hot meals
• Ensure the deli counter is well-stocked, clean, and attractively displayed
• Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with orders and offering product suggestions
• Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards, ensuring all food is prepared in a safe and clean environment
• Operate deli equipment such as slicers and ovens in a safe and efficient manner
• Assist in the preparation of daily specials and promotions
• Handle payments and operate the till as needed
• Assist with opening and closing duties, including cleaning and restocking

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a deli, café, or food preparation environment is preferred
• Strong customer service skills with a friendly and approachable attitude
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices (HACCP certification is an advantage)
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and evenings
• A passion for food and a commitment to delivering high-quality service
