Butcher Charge hand – Arklow

Excel Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Butcher Charge hand to join a busy and well-established food retail operation in Arklow, Co. Wicklow.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious butcher who enjoys leading from the front, maintaining exceptional standards and supporting the day-to-day running of a high-performing fresh meat department.

Salary: €45,000

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the management and day-to-day operation of the butchery department
• Prepare and present fresh meat products to the highest standards
• Lead by example and help maintain excellent department standards
• Assist with stock control, ordering and waste management
• Support and mentor junior team members
• Ensure HACCP, food safety and hygiene procedures are always adhered to
• Deliver expert product knowledge and customer service
• Assist with promotional activity and merchandising
• Help drive sales and departmental performance

The Ideal Candidate:

• Qualified or highly experienced butcher
• Experience working within a busy retail butchery environment
• Strong knowledge of meat cutting preparation and presentation
• Previous experience supporting or supervising a team would be advantageous
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Passion for fresh food and retail excellence
• A hands-on approach with a strong work ethic
