Bakery Supervisor – Supermarket – Co. Wexford

Excel Recruitment is currently recruiting a Bakery Supervisor for our client’s supermarket in Co. Wexford. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced bakery professional to take on a key supervisory role within a successful retail business, supporting the daily bakery operation, leading the team, and ensuring excellent standards of product quality, freshness, and presentation.

Salary: €36k – €40k

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the day-to-day running of the bakery department, ensuring high standards of product quality, freshness, and presentation
• Supervise, train, and motivate the bakery team, delegating daily tasks and ensuring production schedules are completed efficiently
• Support the preparation and baking of a wide range of breads, pastries, and bakery products while maintaining consistency and product availability
• Manage stock levels, ordering, ingredient rotation, and waste control to support departmental sales and profitability targets
• Ensure full compliance with HACCP, food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations throughout the bakery department
• Work closely with store management and the wider fresh food team to maintain high operational standards and identify opportunities to develop the bakery offering

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Bakery Supervisor, Bakery Chargehand, Senior Baker, or similar bakery role within a supermarket, independent bakery, or retail food environment
• Strong knowledge of bakery production, including bread preparation, baking techniques, ingredients, and bakery equipment
• Good leadership skills with the ability to supervise, motivate, and support a busy bakery team
• Excellent understanding of HACCP, food safety, hygiene procedures, and stock management
• Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to coordinate daily production and maintain consistently high standards
• Passion for fresh bakery products with a hands-on approach, excellent attention to detail, and flexibility to work early mornings and weekends as required
