Assistant Manager – Supermarket – Co. Cork

Excel Recruitment is seeking an energetic and motivated Assistant Manager to join our client’s supermarket in Co. Cork. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to support the Store Manager in leading the team, optimising store operations, and ensuring exceptional customer service.

Salary: €50k – €55k

Responsibilities:

• Assist the Store Manager in leading and developing a team to achieve store objectives and deliver excellent customer service
• Oversee daily operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
• Maintain high standards of customer service, addressing customer queries and concerns promptly and professionally
• Assist in managing inventory levels, reducing wastage, and ensuring stock availability
• Support the implementation of merchandising plans, maintaining the store’s visual standards, and coordinating promotional activities
• Assist in recruitment, training, and performance management of staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment
• Help drive store sales, contribute to achieving financial targets, and manage budgets effectively

Requirements:

• Previous experience as an Assistant Manager, Duty Manager, or Supervisor within supermarket, grocery, or convenience retail
• Strong leadership and people-management skills with a hands-on approach
• Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities
• Commercial awareness with experience working toward KPIs and targets
• Customer-focused with a strong understanding of retail standards
• Flexible to work across store trading hours, including weekends
