Assistant Manager – Supermarket – Bray, Co. Wicklow

Excel Recruitment is currently recruiting an Assistant Manager for our client’s supermarket in Bray, Co. Wicklow. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and ambitious retail professional to take on a key management role within a successful supermarket, supporting the Store Manager in overseeing daily operations, leading a motivated team, and driving strong sales and operational performance.

Salary: €50k – €55k

Responsibilities:

• Support the Store Manager with the day-to-day running of the supermarket, ensuring smooth and efficient operations across all departments
• Lead, motivate, and develop the store team to deliver exceptional customer service and maintain consistently high retail standards
• Monitor sales performance, stock control, waste management, and labour costs to support store profitability and achieve business targets
• Oversee stock replenishment, merchandising, product availability, and store presentation to ensure excellent standards throughout the supermarket
• Assist with staff recruitment, rostering, training, and performance management while promoting a positive and productive working environment
• Ensure full compliance with company policies, HACCP, food safety, health & safety, cash handling, and security procedures

Requirements:

• Previous experience as an Assistant Store Manager, Duty Manager, Trainee Manager, or experienced Retail Manager within a supermarket or grocery retail environment
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, motivate, and develop a busy retail team
• Excellent commercial awareness with experience managing sales, margins, stock control, labour costs, and overall store performance
• Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
• Customer-focused with a hands-on management approach and a commitment to maintaining excellent store standards
• Flexible and results-driven with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced supermarket environment, including evenings and weekends when required
