Deli Supervisor – Supermarket – Co. Wexford

Excel Recruitment is currently recruiting a Deli Supervisor for our client’s busy supermarket in Co. Wexford. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced deli professional to take on a key supervisory position, supporting the day-to-day management of the department while helping to maintain excellent fresh food, customer service, and operational standards.

Salary: €36k – €38k

Responsibilities:

• Support the day-to-day running of the deli department, ensuring high standards of food quality, freshness, and presentation
• Supervise and motivate the deli team, delegating daily tasks and ensuring smooth service throughout the department
• Assist with the preparation, cooking, and presentation of a range of hot and cold fresh food products
• Support staff training and ensure team members follow correct food preparation and service procedures
• Monitor stock levels, assist with ordering, and ensure correct stock rotation and product availability
• Help control food waste and manage production levels in line with customer demand
• Ensure full compliance with HACCP, food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations
• Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness, organisation, and merchandising throughout the deli
• Support the Deli Manager with the overall performance of the department and take responsibility when required

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a Deli Chargehand, Deli Supervisor, Senior Deli Assistant, or similar fresh food role
• Experience within a supermarket, convenience store, forecourt, or busy fresh food environment is highly desirable
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise, motivate, and support a team
• Good knowledge of HACCP, food safety, and hygiene procedures
• Hands-on experience with fresh food preparation and deli operations
• Good understanding of stock control, waste management, and product availability
• Excellent communication, organisational, and customer service skills
• Ability to work effectively in a busy, fast-paced retail environment
• Flexible and proactive approach with a willingness to support the wider store team
