Deli Assistant – Co. Wexford

Excel Recruitment is currently recruiting a Deli Assistant for our client’s busy convenience store in Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced fresh food professional to join a friendly and fast-paced retail environment, preparing and serving high-quality fresh food while delivering excellent customer service.

Salary: €15 – €16 per hour

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold deli products to a consistently high standard
• Provide friendly and efficient customer service throughout the deli department
• Ensure food is prepared, cooked, and presented in line with company standards
• Maintain excellent product availability and ensure the deli counter is well stocked and attractively presented
• Follow correct stock rotation procedures and help minimise food waste
• Assist with receiving, storing, and organising fresh food deliveries
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation throughout the deli and food preparation areas
• Ensure full compliance with HACCP, food safety, hygiene, and health & safety procedures
• Work closely with the Deli Manager and wider store team to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the department

Requirements:

• Previous experience working in a deli, fresh food counter, café, catering, or similar food service environment is desirable
• Passion for fresh food and delivering high-quality customer service
• Good knowledge of HACCP, food safety, and hygiene procedures is an advantage
• Confident preparing and serving both hot and cold food products
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy, fast-paced environment
• Positive and reliable attitude with the ability to work well as part of a team
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including early mornings and weekends when required
