Excel is currently recruiting for a Payroll Specialist that has a strong experience and knowledge of UK and ROI payroll. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of payroll processes across multiple jurisdictions, working closely with the HR and finance. The successful candidate will be a key player in ensuring accurate and compliant payroll delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the end-to-end processing of monthly UK and ROI payrolls.
  • Ensure payroll data is accurately maintained, validated, and reconciled.
  • Process payroll elements including salaries, overtime, bonuses, pensions, expenses, benefits, and statutory payments.
  • Prepare payroll reports and support payment file processing.
  • Respond to payroll-related queries from employees and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with UK and ROI payroll legislation, statutory requirements, and GDPR guidelines.
  • Support BACS file preparation and payroll reporting.
  • Assist with payroll audits, controls, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Work closely with HR, Finance, and other internal teams to ensure an efficient payroll service.

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in payroll processing.
  • Strong hands-on experience with both UK and ROI payroll is essential.
  • Proven experience supporting end-to-end payroll processes within a medium to large organisation.
  • Strong knowledge of UK and ROI payroll legislation, tax, pensions, and statutory requirements.
  • Experience working with complex payrolls involving overtime, bonuses, expenses, benefits-in-kind, pensions, and employee life-cycle changes.
  • IPASS or CIPP qualification is essential.
  • Candidates without a payroll qualification will be considered if they can demonstrate significant relevant payroll experience.
  • Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
  • Strong organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet strict deadlines.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Must have experience in processing 300+ payslips per payroll.
