Assistant Store Manager – Bray

Our client, a well-established grocery retail business, is seeking an ambitious Assistant Store Manager who is eager to develop into a Store Manager position in the near future.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused retail professional who thrives in a fast-paced grocery environment and wants to take ownership of a successful store operation.

Salary €40k – €42k

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the overall management and performance of the store
• Lead, coach, and develop a large retail team to achieve business objectives
• Drive sales growth and maximise store profitability
• Monitor and manage departmental margins, waste, and stock control
• Deliver exceptional customer service standards across all areas
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, health & safety, and food safety regulations
• Oversee staff performance, recruitment, training, and succession planning
• Analyse KPIs and implement action plans to improve store performance
• Maintain high merchandising and presentation standards throughout the store

Ideal Candidate:

• Previous experience as an Assistant Store Manager, Duty Manager, or Senior Department Manager within grocery retail
• Strong people management and team leadership experience
• Proven ability to drive sales, profitability, and operational excellence
• Experience managing KPIs, margins, stock control, and labour costs
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Customer-focused with a hands-on management style
• Ambitious and motivated to progress into a Store Manager position
• Strong commercial awareness and problem-solving abilities
