Excel Recruitment are recruiting a Senior Psychologist for a full-time, long-term agency contract within an Adult Mental Health service based in Monaghan town.

This is an excellent opportunity to work as part of a skilled multidisciplinary team, supporting adults with complex mental health presentations within a specialist service.

Successful Candidate:

The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, providing specialist psychological input to adults requiring mental health support within an Adult Mental Health service.

You will bring sound clinical judgement, strong assessment and formulation skills, and the ability to work confidently within a busy multidisciplinary environment. A compassionate, calm, and practical approach will be essential in supporting adults with complex presentations.

Job Purpose:

The Senior Psychologist will provide specialist psychological assessment, formulation, and evidence-based therapeutic input to adults attending the service. The role will involve close multidisciplinary working, consultation, risk-informed clinical input, and contribution to care planning within a specialist Adult Mental Health setting.

This role would particularly suit a Senior Psychologist with experience in Adult Mental Health, acute mental health, and/or eating disorder presentations, who is seeking a meaningful long-term agency opportunity.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • A Doctorate or equivalent qualification in Clinical or Counselling Psychology.
  • Eligibility for professional registration with the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) or relevant professional body.
  • Minimum 5 years’ post-qualification experience, with at least 2 years at Senior or equivalent level.
  • Experience in assessment, formulation, and delivery of psychological interventions within adult mental health services.
  • Strong understanding of community mental health presentations, care pathways, and multidisciplinary working.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and liaise professionally with service users, families, carers, and other healthcare professionals.
