We are currently seeking an experienced Night Production Manager to oversee night operations within a busy fruit and vegetable production facility. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader with strong people management skills and experience within food production, FMCG, or fresh produce environments.
Working closely with the Operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring production targets are achieved while maintaining the highest standards of quality, food safety, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and lead the night shift production team to achieve daily production targets.
- Ensure products are packed, prepared, and dispatched accurately and on time.
- Monitor productivity, labour utilisation, and operational performance.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
- Maintain high standards of food safety, quality, hygiene, and health & safety.
- Conduct team briefings, staff training, and performance management activities.
- Work closely with warehouse, transport, and planning teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Investigate and resolve operational issues, minimising downtime and maximising output.
- Ensure accurate production reporting and shift handovers.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a Production Manager, Shift Manager, or Operations Manager role.
- Experience within food manufacturing, fresh produce, FMCG, or distribution environments.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Proven ability to manage KPIs, productivity, and operational performance.
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
- Strong understanding of HACCP, food safety, and health & safety regulations.
- Ability to work independently and lead a team during night operations.
