Baker – Supermarket – Co. Cork

Excel Recruitment is currently recruiting an experienced Baker for our client’s busy supermarket in Cork. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled bakery professional with strong scratch baking experience to join a successful retail business and play an important role in delivering a high-quality, fresh bakery offering.

Salary: €36k – €40k

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and bake a wide range of breads and bakery products from scratch to a consistently high standard
• Manage daily bakery production, ensuring products are fresh, well presented, and available throughout the day
• Follow recipes and production plans while maintaining consistency in quality, taste, and presentation
• Support the development of the store’s bakery offering and introduce new products where appropriate
• Monitor stock levels, manage ingredients, and assist with ordering to ensure efficient bakery operations
• Control waste and production levels in line with customer demand and business targets
• Ensure full compliance with HACCP, food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards
• Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient bakery workspace
• Work closely with store management and the wider fresh food team to maintain excellent standards

Requirements:

• Previous experience working as a Baker within a supermarket, bakery, or similar food production environment
• Strong scratch baking experience is essential
• Excellent knowledge of bread production, including mixing, proving, shaping, and baking
• Passion for fresh bakery products with a strong focus on quality and consistency
• Good understanding of HACCP, food safety, and hygiene procedures
• Ability to manage daily production schedules and work efficiently in a busy environment
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a wider fresh food team
• Flexibility to work early mornings and weekends as required
