Supermarket Butcher – Arklow

Excel Recruitment are seeking an experienced Qualified Butcher to join a busy supermarket in Arklow.

What’s on Offer:

• 42hr working week
• €19 per hr

Please Note- Candidates must have Stamp 4 or EU Passport

You will work closely with the Head Butcher, playing a key role in the day-to-day running of the butcher counter. Responsibilities include preparing and presenting high-quality meat products, maintaining excellent food safety and hygiene standards, delivering outstanding customer service, and ensuring the counter is well merchandised. As the department continues to expand, there will also be opportunities to mentor and support counter assistants.

Experience & Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a qualified butcher- ESSENTIAL
• Recognised butchery qualification (QQI Level 5/6 in Meat Processing or Butchery, completed apprenticeship, or equivalent). Time-served candidates with strong practical skills will also be considered
• Strong knowledge of food safety and HACCP, including temperature control, traceability, and labelling
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to advise on cuts, cooking methods, and portion sizes
• Fluent English with strong communication skills
