Excel Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced Depot Manager for a leading logistics and transport operation based in Cork City. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on manager with strong operational, warehousing, and cross-dock experience to lead a busy depot and drive performance across logistics, transport, and warehouse functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operations of a busy transport and logistics depot
• Lead, motivate, and develop warehouse and operational teams
• Oversee cross-dock operations, ensuring efficient movement of freight
• Monitor depot performance and implement continuous improvements
• Coordinate warehouse, transport, and customer service activities
• Ensure stock accuracy, inventory control, and operational compliance
• Manage staffing levels, scheduling, and productivity
• Maintain high standards of health, safety, and site housekeeping
• Build strong relationships with customers, drivers, and key stakeholders

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Depot Manager, Operations Manager, Logistics Manager, or similar leadership role
• Strong knowledge of cross-dock operations and freight movement
• Experience leading teams within warehouse, transport, or logistics environments
• Proven ability to manage KPIs, productivity, and operational performance
• Strong people management and communication skills
• Excellent problem-solving and organisational abilities
• Good understanding of health and safety regulations
