Store Manager – Convenience Store – Co. Mayo

Excel Recruitment is currently recruiting a Store Manager for our client’s busy convenience store in Co. Mayo. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced retail professional to take full responsibility for the day-to-day operation of a successful store, leading a dedicated team while driving sales, customer service, and operational excellence.

Salary: €45k – €50k

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the day-to-day running of the store, ensuring smooth and efficient operations across all departments
• Lead, motivate, and develop the store team to deliver outstanding customer service and achieve business objectives
• Drive sales performance by monitoring KPIs and implementing initiatives to maximise revenue and profitability
• Manage stock control, ordering, merchandising, and inventory to maintain excellent product availability
• Control labour costs, waste, and overall store expenses in line with budget targets
• Ensure the highest standards of store presentation, cleanliness, and merchandising are maintained at all times
• Recruit, train, coach, and develop team members to build a strong and engaged workforce
• Ensure full compliance with company procedures, food safety, health & safety, and cash handling policies
• Work closely with senior management to implement business strategies and support continued store growth

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager within a supermarket, convenience store, or grocery retail environment
• Strong commercial awareness with a proven ability to achieve sales and profitability targets
• Excellent leadership skills with experience managing, motivating, and developing retail teams
• Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Experience managing stock control, labour scheduling, and operational performance
• Customer-focused with a hands-on management style and a commitment to delivering high standards
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment and adapt to changing business needs
• Flexible to work a variety of shifts, including weekends, as required
