Our client is a rapidly growing construction and engineering organisation employing over 1,000 people across its international operations. With a strong track record of delivering large-scale projects throughout Europe, the company has established itself as a leader within its sector and continues to expand its footprint across 9 countries.
Due to continued growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Financial Accountant to join the finance team. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, this role offers exposure to multiple entities and jurisdictions, providing an excellent platform for a qualified accountant seeking to further develop their career within a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
The Role:
- Supporting month-end and year-end close processes.
- Preparing and managing P&L and Balance Sheet reporting across multiple entities and jurisdictions.
- Performing detailed balance sheet reconciliations, including intercompany transactions.
- Managing bank reconciliations, payroll support activities and cashflow monitoring.
- Reconciling and analysing key costs across business units and presenting findings to budget holders.
- Assisting with annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Supporting the preparation of statutory accounts and liaising with external auditors.
- Producing monthly KPI and management reports for senior leadership.
- Responding to ad hoc financial analysis and reporting requests from stakeholders.
- Identifying opportunities to improve finance processes, controls and reporting efficiencies.
- Supporting finance transformation projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assisting in the supervision and development of junior finance team members.
The successful candidate will have:
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification.
- A practice-trained background with strong technical accounting expertise.
- A minimum of 2 years’ PQE gained within industry.
- Experience in financial reporting, management accounts preparation and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Strong commercial awareness and business acumen.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to build strong working relationships across the business.
- A proactive and solutions-focused approach.
- Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
